Shell unveils synthetic gear oil

Shell Lubricants has introduced a synthetic gear oil for automated mechanical transmissions. Shell Spirax S6 GXME is designed for transmissions such as the Volvo I-Shift and Mack mDrive. It offers extended drain potential up to 250,000 miles, according to Chris Guerrero, Shell Rotella brand manager. It carries an API GL-4 category and is SAE 75W-80.

The program at www.mymilesmatter.com offers users gift cards and products by redeeming reward miles earned when purchasing Rotella Triple T, T5 and T6 oils. Shell Lubricants recently simplified its product lineup is to make selecting the proper level of lube protection easier, the company says. Shell Donax and Shell Dentax products have been consolidated under the Shell Spirax brand of gear oils, axle oils and transmission fluids.  All grease products are now under the Shell Gadus brand.  Shell Retinax, Shell Rhodina, Shell Albida and Shell Alvania are among the products now in the Shell Gadus portfolio.
