House of BlackOut: Update from Chuck Timbrook and his 1999 veterans-support custom Freightliner
With his health up and down and funding uneven, the Christmas-parade season was truncated a bit this past year for Chuck Timbrook, owner-operator of the 1999 Freightliner Classic that is the Black Out vets-support rig. He continues, though, to make plans for the remainder of the year with hopes to be back on track.

Trucker, Army vet awarded specially-wrapped truck from Transport America
Transport America recently selected 20-year trucker and Army veteran Russ Cox as the driver of its first Armed Forces Fleet truck. Cox said he was proud to be selected to drive the truck, which has a custom, Army-themed truck wrap. Cox served for 11 years and was a tank crew member on an M1A1 tank.

The week-long Truckers for Troops fundraising effort, held Nov. 5-9, officially raised $38,536. Shell Rotella helped the 2018 campaign get off to a good start with a $2,000 donation.

Military vet truckers will be able to use V.A. examiners for DOT physicals
Active-duty military members, reservists and veterans will soon be able to use Veterans Association medical examiners to obtain their DOT medical certifications. President Donald Trump signed into law this week a bill to allows non-physician examiners to perform exams of drivers.

Ed Harwell’s custom tribute to military veterans made its first truck-show appearance at the PKY championships at the Mid-America Trucking Show. This video, and plenty of photos, show the meticulous work put into the cabover’s restoration.
