Technology Now: XM

XM Satellite Radio, the nation’s leading satellite radio service, has added The Dave Nemo Show and expanded news, safety and entertainment programming, including daily NASCAR updates.

XM is a hit among truckers. Since launching nationally last November, XM has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from truckers nationwide, raving about the coast-to-coast coverage, digital quality sound, and incredible programming variety, such as Open Road, XM’s exclusive, full-service truckers’ channel (XM 168).

The Dave Nemo Show, which airs daily from 7 a.m.-12 p.m. (EST) on Open Road, includes call-ins from truckers, as well as several features of interest to the over the road trucker. With the addition of The Dave Nemo Show, XM is the only satellite radio service featuring all three veteran trucking-radio legends, including Bill Mack, Dale “The Truckin’ Bozo” Sommers, and now Dave Nemo.

“XM’s superb audio and nationwide coverage are what truckers have dreamed of for years,” Nemo says.

Overdrive Trucking News airs a three-minute, daily program covering national trucking news, including legislative issues, news analysis and human-interest stories. The show is produced by the editors of Overdrive magazine.

Open Road also broadcasts NASCAR updates daily direct from XM’s exclusive NASCAR channel, NASCAR Radio (XM 144). XM is the exclusive satellite radio service of NASCAR.

It’s easy to add XM to any existing stereo or to buy a new AM/FM/XM system. Best Buy (www.bestbuy.com/xmradio) offers radios from Pioneer and Sony, as well as on-site installation. Circuit City (877-932-2225) offers radios from Pioneer, Alpine and Sony, and also offers on-site installation. Pioneer, Alpine and Sony radios are also available at both Crutchfield (800-955-3000) and Pana-Pacific (800-726-2636). Or, you can visit your Delphi commercial truck dealer.
