If you receive an e-mail purporting to be from the Fraud Department of the Federal Trade Commission, claiming a customer has filed a complaint against you, don’t worry. Thousands of people are getting the same e-mail, but it’s a fake, and its attachments contain a computer virus, the FTC says.

In this warning about the virus, the FTC asks that you forward any such e-mail, without opening the attachments, to [email protected], then delete it.

We figured this was worth posting at Channel 19 because small-business people such as owner-operators might be especially worried by the prospect of a customer complaining to the feds, and that worry might lead them to hastily click themselves into genuine trouble.
