The Road Dog Trucking Radio Network, the newly combined Sirius Channel 147 and XM Channel 171, comes with an unfortunate cancellation — the long-running Loading Dock show with Mark Willis, one many of us here at a href=”http://www.overdrivedigital.com/”Overdrive/a and a href=”http://www.truckersnews.com/”Truckers News /aHQ (a href=”http://channel19.blogspot.com/2008/12/breaker-breaker.html”including this blogger/a) participated in over past months and years, will no longer lead Sirius 147’s lineup in the A.M. With the Sirius and XM merger, consolidation of programming seems to be the order of the day.br /br /Lamenting the fact of the show’s cancellation this week were the folks at the Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB), who in a story published by a href=”http://moderntiredealer.com/”Modern Tire Dealer/a cited as evidence of the the Loading Dock’s impact more than 10,000 retread informational packets requested by and sent to listeners during the show’s seven-year run.br /br /In the a href=”http://www.moderntiredealer.com/News/Story/2009/02/Trucker-radio-show-is-canceled.aspx”Modern Tire Dealer story/a, TRIB managing director Harvey Brodsky is quoted as saying, “We were sorry to learn that the show had been canceled. By being on the show weekly, TRIB was able to contribute much to the education of truckers regarding the importance of proper tire maintenance, plus the economic and environmental benefits of retreading and proper tire repairing,” he adds.br /br /a onclick=”window.open(‘http://digg.com/submit?phase=2amp;url=’+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+’amp;title=’+encodeURIComponent(document.title), ‘digg’); return false;” href=”http://digg.com/submit”Digg/abr /a onclick=”window.open(‘http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=’+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+’amp;title=’+encodeURIComponent(document.title),’facebook’); return false;” href=”http://www.facebook.com/share.php”facebook/adiv class=”blogger-post-footer”Channel 19 is the blog version of the column of the same name featured in Overdrive: The Voice of the American Trucker.
