The Standout: Mike O’Conner’s ’05 Peterbilt 379

Mike O’Connor of Mitchell, S.D., has added 8-inch curve-tip straight pipes, Jones Performance curb-length fenders and light panels to the sides of the sleeper and cab of his 2005 Peterbilt 379, among other mods. Upon its finish, O’Connor decided the rig is too nice to use for work – it’s show only today. The truck is powered by a 550-hp Cat and an 18-speed transmission.

Missouri-based Gary Jones bought the truck in December from its original owner, Arizona-based Dean DeSantis. Jones gave it his own flavor while still respecting the work done to it by DeSantis.
