Time extended to use new alcohol test form

The U.S. Department of Transportation has extended the deadline to begin using updated Alcohol Testing Forms to Jan. 1.

The DOT had mandated an Aug. 1 start date. It then learned trucking companies and their service agents might not use all the old forms by that deadline, and extended the stop date to avoid wasting the current forms. The rule was effective July 2. This is also expected to give breath alcohol technicians and employers time to design, print and distribute new ones.

The rule may be read here.
