Tippin tips his hat

| January 23, 2009

Overdrive, available for preorder here, has been in the works for a while, says Tippin. “>I’ve had my heart set on doing this album for a long time. Now, with the current economic state, I’m reminded of the unsung heroes of the road, that legion of devoted Americans, some 4 million strong, who make their living in the trucking industry and hammer down, day after day. And I wanted to make this record for them.”

Overdrive sister pub Truckers News told the story of the former dry-freight hauler Tippin’s rise to country music prominence in this detailed cover story in TN’s October 2001 issue.

Available Feb. 3, the new album features several great old tunes, but can you guess which one’s my favorite?
