DAT Solutions recently released its 2016 rankings for spot market truckload freight.For the second year in a row, Atlanta was the top city for van and reefer spot truckload freight in 2016, according to DAT Solutions. Little Rock, Ark., also held its spot as the top city for flatbed spot freight, DAT adds.
For spot market van loads, Houston held its No. 2 spot from 2015, and Chicago jumped from No. 9 in 2015 to No. 3 in 2016. Chicago also jumped in the reefer spot market in 2016 from No. 6 to No. 2. Elizabeth, N.J. fell from No. 2 to No. 3 in the reefer rankings.
Behind Little Rock in the flatbed rankings, Shreveport, La., was the No. 2 city for spot freight, followed by Mobile, Ala., at No. 3.
The rankings are based on an analysis of freight matches and market transactions on DAT’s load board network.
