Bay & Bay boosts retention bonus

Bay & Bay Transportation of St. Paul, Minn., increased its retention bonus for qualifying mileage contractors and company drivers by 1 cent for every dispatched mile driven, both loaded and empty, until Sept. 30, 2015. This is in addition to the preexisting 1-cent retention bonus already in effect through March 31, 2015.

Mack is offering special incentives to members of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association who buy a Mack truck from participating dealers between Oct.22 and Dec. 31, the truck and engine maker announced Oct. 23.

K&B boosts sign-on bonus for new hires

K&B Transportation announced that it has boosted its sign-on bonus for newly hired drivers, who now will receive $400 in orientation pay, $500 on their Nov. 21 paycheck prior to Thanksgiving and another $500 on their Dec. 19 paycheck before Christmas. Drivers for the Sioux City, Iowa-based refrigerated carrier also have the option to run over the Christmas holiday and earn an extra $250 bonus.

Cummins develops iPhone, iPad service app

Cummins announced this week it has released a new app for Apple iOS devices. Dubbed QuickServe Online, it offers users easy, mobile access to Cummins’ parts options, parts catalogs and engine dataplate info for 15 million Cummins serial numbers, the engine maker says. It also has a fault code analyzer for Cummins electronic engines, providing specific fault code details and analysis. The app is free and is available in Apple’s App store. Love’s raises nearly $2M to Children’s Miracle Network

Love’s announced this week that it raised $1.86 million from customers donations for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The money was donated during the company’s annual five-week drive that ended Sept. 30. Due to a motorcycle show taking place in the Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach, Fla., Oct. 16-19, the Love’s Travel Stops location in Ormond Beach will be fuel and go only those days. Long-term parking will not be available, Love’s said in an announcement today.

The Arizona Transportation Education Foundation says it has received a $24,000 grant from its states Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to allow it to wrap a trailer with educational materials teaching motorists about safely sharing the road with trucks.
