Data compliance service to expand

Hours of service information, overall safety scorecards and intervention workflow for at-risk drivers will be provided to carriers in a new partnership with data management firm Vigillo, Dallas-based Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. announced. The expanded service in safety and compliance data as mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Comprehensive Safety Analysis is expected to start in the fall. KLLM raises driver pay

Lead drivers in the South and Midwest, contractors and lease-purchase contractors are eligible for a pay increase, KLLM Transportation Services, based in Jackson, Miss., announced. Southeast regional lead drivers will receive a pay increase ranging from 23 percent to 25 percent, and Midwest regional lead drivers will get an increase ranging from 39 cents per mile to 43 cents per mile. Tractors commemorate Schneider’s founding

San Bernardino, Calif., resident Harvey Robbins, shown in the photo, is one of 10 drivers hauling freight in Schneider’s new Freightliner tractors specially decorated for the carrier’s 75th anniversary celebration. CRST Van Expedited will be named CRST Expedited after Sept. 15, parent company CRST International announced. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based carrier's largest subsidiary, CRST Expedited is used for time-sensitive loads, high-value loads and loads that require additional security. Scan service added at six stops

Six independent truck stops and travel centers are now offering Transflo Express scanning for truckers, Tampa, Fla.-based Pegasus Trans Tech announced. TRANSFLO Express is now available at more than 750 truck stops in the U.S. and Canada including Pilot, Flying J, and Love’s locations. Joplin 44 Petro expands services

Taco Bell and Pizza Hut Express opened at the Joplin 44 Petro near Interstate 44 off of Exit 4 in Joplin, Mo., as part of an expansion. The truck stop is planning to add a Blimpie sandwich eatery and has already an Iron Skillet full-service restaurant. Greatwide revising health plan for owner-operators

Greatwide will introduce an indemnity health care plan option for its 3,000 owner-operators, effective Dec. 1, said Rob Newell, vice president of capacity management. It will replace the optional PPO (preferred provider organization) medical insurance plan for owner-operators, which has been an industry leader, because it is not compliant with levels of coverage mandated by the new federal health care plan, he said.
