Old Dominion opens, expands service centers

Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has opened a new service center in Watertown, S.D., and an expanded service center in Oshkosh, Wis. The Thomasville, N.C.-based less-than-truckload carrier said it opened its third South Dakota facility because of increasing population and economic growth in the region. The one-acre 12-door service center employs five. Old Dominion said it expanded its Oshkosh facility because of the region’s resurging paper industry. Pride Transport adjusts driver pay, bonus, holiday packages

Pride Transport announced several changes to its pay scale, including mileage pay increases, for all incoming drivers and existing refrigerated drivers. The company’s new Pay For Performance plan gives each driver at least a 2-cent increase, bringing its pay range to 33 to 42 cents per mile depending on experience. Kenworth T370 getting heavier front axles

Kenworth Truck Co.announced it soon will offer heavier front axles for its T370 Class 7 model. The company said that with the new 18,000-pound and 20,000-pound front axles, customers can put more weight on the front ends for fuel-hauling, dump, mixer, utility and crane applications, allowing more payload in a shorter BBC package.
