Richmond Peterbilt Store suffers fire damage

A two-alarm fire damaged The Peterbilt Store in Richmond, Va. early Tuesday morning. According to The Richmond Times Dispatch, firefighters were called to the scene at 3:47 a.m., with more units called in for support at 4:04 a.m. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has expanded its Goodyear Authorized Retread network with the addition of Colonial Tire Distributors, a Richmond, Va.-based firm that serves trucking fleets with new Goodyear commercial truck tires, Goodyear retreads and other products and services. Iowa 80 turns 50

The Iowa 80 Truckstop is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, it announced this week.   The truck stop began serving truckers out of a small white enamel building in 1964 before Interstate 80 was completely built.  Bill Moon, Iowa 80 founder, located the spot, at what is now Exit 284, for Standard Oil.
