12L CNG T660 in service

AMP Americas, a CNG fueling company, recently put its first 12-liter Kenworth T660 truck on the road. The truck is the first of 42 new T660 trucks that will upgrade one of the largest CNG fleets in the country. The trucks have the ability to travel more than 600 miles between fill-ups and will hold 136 diesel gallon equivalents of CNG. Patriotic Freightliner goes to Schneider

Love’s opens new Texas location

Love’s Travel Stops announced this week it opened a new stop in Deer Park, Texas, at Highway 225 and Independence Parkway. The location features 70 truck parking spaces, McDonald’s and Chester’s Chicken restaurants, and a tire care center open 24/7. Bulk DEF will be available at the pump on all diesel lanes, along with RFID cardless fueling technology. Drivers will receive double “My Love Rewards” loyalty points at the new location through July 31.

Old Dominion raises rates

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., recently announced a modest increase to its base rates, to be effective July 1. The exact increase may differ for customers based on a number of variables, including lanes utilized and the distance shipments move. The increase is approximately 4.9 percent. The rate provides for a nominal increase in intrastate, interstate and cross-border lane charges; it will also offset the rising costs of new equipment and insurance.

Severe congestion, delays expected on NJ’s Route 22

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission will start a major rehabilitation project on the Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge, which carries U.S. Route 22 across the Delaware River between Easton, Pa. and Phillipsburg, N.J., on Monday,  June 17. Travel on the toll bridge will be reduced to from two lanes in each direction to single lanes in each direction for 15 of the next 18 months. Wabco announces winner of sweepstakes

Wabco recently named Gloria Merritt, of Merritt Transport, the winner of the company’s ESCsmart “Drive-it-Away” Sweepstakes. Merritt will have the opportunity to drive a 600-hp NASCAR stock car while participating in the King’s Experience with the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
