Crete named most valuable military employer

CivilianJobs.com recently named Crete Carrier Corporation its 2013 Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for Military winner. According to Tonn Ostergard, president and CEO of the company, 30 percent of Crete Carrier employees have prior military experience. The company has an employee training program designed to train and transition military individuals into a civilian profession.The recognition serves to help military-experienced job seekers and veterans identify the top employers to target for civilian careers.

Love’s opens new Texas stop

Love’s Travel Stops recently opened a new location in Weimar, Texas, at Interstate 10, Exit 682. The location includes 88 truck parking spaces, a Wendy’s and Chester’s Chicken restaurants, Love’s Truck Tire Care center, five showers, CAT scales and bulk DEF available at all diesel lane pumps. The tire center will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Drivers will receive double loyalty points at the new location through May 31.

CRST acquires division of Allied Van Lines

CRST International, Inc., recently acquired the Allied Special Products division of Allied Van Lines, based in Fort Wayne, Ind. The company specializes in moving high-value products including motorcycles, medical products and office equipment. The acquisition complements STI, which CRST purchased in 2011.
