Con-way Freight opens two new service centers

Con-way Freight, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based less-than-truckload company, opened two new service centers in Texas and Wisconsin. The new $3.7 million Central Texas service center in Robinson replaces an existing 22-door facility in Waco; it has 48 doors and an 18,870-square-foot dock. The new $8 million facility in Fond du Lac, Wis., has 47,000 square feet and more than 100 employees.

Old Dominion opens, relocates service centers

Old Dominion Freight Line opened a new 267-door service center in Memphis, Tenn. The Thomasville, N.C.-based less-than-truckload company said it invested more than $30 million in the facility that now employs 416, with plans to add 100 new jobs over the next two years. Dayton Freight opened a new 52-door service center in Des Moines, Iowa, to provide faster service, increased capacity and more error-free deliveries. The Dayton, Ohio-based less-than-truckload company invested $7.5 million in the 28,000-square-foot facility and plans to add a maintenance shop later this year.

Hornady increases pay packages

Hornady Transportation announced an increase in all driver pay programs that will be applied to all line haul, dedicated and regional drivers paid by the mile. Effective Jan. 5, all drivers will receive a 1-cent increase across the board. Additional packages for tarp, detention, layover and breakdown pay also will be increased. Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. announced the addition of trailer roll stability protection from Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems as a standard base specification on its 3000R refrigerated trailer.
