Interstate Distributor Co. launches $2,500 truck add bonus

Independent carriers and owner operators who add power units during August are eligible for a $2,500 bonus per truck as part of Interstate Distributor Co.’s Power Only program, the Tacoma, Wash.-based carrier announced. Boyd Bros. raises pay 1 cent

A 1-cent pay raise for drivers  is in now in effect, Boyd Bros. Transportation announced. All drivers will now receive an additional 1 cent on every paid mile. In addition to the pay increase, the Clayton, Ala.-based flatbed carrier also announced an increase in tarp and detention pay to $20 and $18 per load, respectively. A newly remodeled plaza center opened in El Paso, Texas, Pilot Flying J Travel Plazas said. The travel stop company was recently named to Nation’s Restaurant News' 2011 Top 100 list. The reopened plaza is located at 1301 North Horizon Blvd., and features six fuel islands and 12 diesel islands along with a Denny's restaurant and a wide variety of convenience items. Navistar training facility opens

A new Navistar product support facility opened in Woodridge, Ill., the Warrenville-based engine and International brand truck maker announced. The 70,000-square-foot facility houses an office area, three classrooms, a photo and video studio, computer lab, a tool and fabrication shop and training space for dealer and fleet technicians. PACCAR Financial used truck center opens in Salt Lake City

A third used truck center opened in Salt Lake City, PACCAR Financial announced. Others centers are located in Hickory Hills, Ill., and Spartanburg, S.C. At the grand opening, Jason Skoog, PFC’s director of operations said the company sold 88 used Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, adding to the more than 28,000 trucks the company has sold since 2000. Interstate Distributor Co. updates tractor fleet

Interstate Distributor Co. and McCoy Freightliner have entered into a multi-year agreement to replace IDC’s fleet of older tractors with 1,200 new Freightliner Cascadia tractors, the first of which will arrive in late August, the companies announced. The new tractors will be designed to create an ideal working environment for IDC’s company drivers and will be equipped with fuel efficient technology.
