Xtreme Autowerke Boat Hauler
1/24 scale model I built of the Moebius Models International Lonestar stretched to a tri-drive. Truck: I converted the fenders to except a set of bullet headlights from a die-cast. The mesh behind the grill was painted to match the body color. The Alien head is from a Cake decoration. The chassis is fully plumbed with air lines and fuel lines. Thanks to Andre' Watts for the diagrams. The interior is full of all kinds of neat stuff including cell phones. Pizza, Stereo system, Dog bowls and much more take some time to look around. Trailer: The Trailer is a scratch built kit bashed custom design. I started out with 2 AMT Fruehauf flat beds. I cut the first trailer to create a double drop deck, however I was not happy with it so I add to the length to make it 53' This was a task and a half and add a huge amount of reinforcement work I had not originally planned. Once that was complete I decided to build a work shop in the back of the trailer. again turned out to be more work then I thought. But I'm very happy with the result. I then moved onto the boat mount. This was a huge pain many many changes cuts cursing and redoing. But I can for say I will never see another one on a model. The front box was probably the easiest part of the build but then I thought lets go one step further and add an observation deck. Finally once that was all done I had a great idea to diamond plate the trailer boat area. This turned into a huge task as every section had to be cut separately then foiled. I used household aluminum foil as BMF would have cost me a fortune. Boat: The final piece of this project and the hardest part was the boat. The boat started as the old Testors Miss Budweiser kit, The kit while very nice I very basic and not really what I wanted. I started by inclosing the engine bay which originally had a very basic detailed Allison engine. It took about 6 tries before I finally was happy with the enclosure. IF YOU ASK NICE I WILL TELL YOU WHAT I FINALLY USED. I then moved on to the cockpit which in the original kit had this odd looking round seat and barely anything else. Since this was suppose to be a more modern boat I decided to go with a NASCAR race seat and a NASCAR modified dash board from a Revell Tony Stewart kit. I added photo etched seat belts from Eduard Model Accessories and a resin MSD box and fire extinguiser. I also added a photo etched remove before flight tag to the nose of the boat PAINT and Other Details: Tamiya Candy Lime Green, Tamiya Black, Tamiya Pearl Clear. Foil is from Dollar Tree
