I always wanted to do a night shot of the cavernous entrance of the Grand Casino in Hinckley, MN. This is two shots merged into one. I opened both shots in Photoshop. Then I created a New Layer in one of the shots and copied the other shot into that Layer. I played around a little with it and I think I ended up with the Second Layer set to Hard Light at about 80% Opacity. (Still learning both the camera and the software) Just a quick note here: I noticed the Starburst Effect of the lights along the top of the photo are a little different than what I am used to seeing. With a film camera the starburst created by a long exposure has ends that come to a point. These seem to fan out. I have noticed this on another night shot I did with this camera. Is this due to the style of shutter in the G11, or do DSLRs with interchangeable lenses also produce the same effect?
