On The Hook
Joys of the job. Not really how I wanted to spend my afternoon and evening. I blew a heater hose in 90+ degree weather and had to be towed into the Volvo Dealer in Cedar Rapids, IA. It was about 8 hours from the time I stopped on the side of the highway to the time they finished working on my truck. As every Professional Over The Road Truck Driver knows; It's not 'if' you will break down, it's 'when' you will break down. Think about the size of this vehicle combination for a minute. This Tow Truck is about 35' long or so, and it is towing a tractor and trailer that weighs about 70,000 pounds, and is about 70' long or so. This is over 100' of machinery rolling down the road. That is about 1/3 of a football field.
