Larry Huguenard has been named Trucker Buddy’s Buddy of the Month for October 2012 after being nominated by Cory Hyslop, a fifth-grade teacher at Oakdale Elementary in Rock Hill, S.C. Huguenard has been working with Hyslop’s class for the last two years, mailing postcards while across the country on hauls and responding to student questions and letters about his trips. Huguenard visited the class twice last year, bringing the class t-shirts and discussing his job with the students. Students love asking Huguenard about his pit bull, Minnie Pearl, that accompanies him on drives. Hyslop said his students have improved their writing skills by writing letters to Huguenard.
