Linda Ford was named the Trucker Buddy February Teacher of the Month, and Jim Buwalda, a company driver for Team One, was named February’s Trucker Buddy of the Month, the program announced.
Ford teaches fourth grade at Lincoln-Irvin Elementary School in Moline, Ill. She’s worked with Smith Transport driver and Trucker Buddy Matt Slovack for six years within the program, and she uses the postcards Slovack sends to her class in her lesson plans. Slovack nominated Ford for the award
Buwalda has been a Trucker Buddy for more than 16 years and volunteers at John Brown Elementary School in Rathdru, Idaho. Buwaldo sends gift cards, stationery goods and supplies and $10 to each student for Christmas. Buwalda was nominated by teacher Angela Milks.
