Trucker named Highway Angel for performing CPR on fellow driver

Chris LemaireChris Lemaire

The Truckload Carriers Association has recognized truck driver Chris Lemaire of Erath, La., as a Highway Angel for performing CPR on a fellow trucker who had collapsed.

Lemaire, a driver for Earl L. Henderson Trucking out of Caseyville, Ill., was at a Pilot Travel Center on Feb. 22, in Cartersville, Ga., when another driver told him he didn’t feel well. Lemaire checked the driver’s blood pressure and told him to call 911. Soon after, the driver collapsed. As a certified first responder and former law enforcement officer, Lemaire began performing CPR until paramedics arrived.

For his willingness to help, TCA presented Lemaire with a certificate, patches, lapel pins and truck decals. Earl L. Henderson Trucking was also given a certificate acknowledging their drover as a TCA Highway Angel.
