Fleetwood’s air brake cooling system

Fleetwood Air Brake Cooling SystemFleetwood Resource Management’s Air Brake Cooling System is engineered to resist brake fade caused by heat buildup within the braking system. The system is designed to maintain a lower operating temperature to help lessen wear on brake components and extend their life.

It is comprised of an auxiliary compressed air system that operates independently of the unit’s air brake system. It provides compressed air to each brake drum, where it is dispersed by a fixed blade turbine diffuser. The diffuser creates a turbulent airflow designed to create a uniform cooling action to help maximize the cooling effect. The air also blows loose brake dust particles from the contact area, helping to enhance the drum brake system’s braking capability.

The system is activated by a valve that is linked mechanically to the brake pedal. For more information, email [email protected].
