Brandon Avant spent so much time with this 2010 Peterbilt 389 during the two years it took to turn the rig into a championship-contending show truck, his wife Melissa had to give the truck its nickname, “The Mistress.”

The rig was on display at the Great American Trucking Show Pride & Polish last month in Dallas, where it earned Best of Show runner-up honors in the Limited Mileage Bobtail category.

As he explains in the video above, everything on the truck from front to back and top to bottom has been taken off, changed and customized in one way or another. The color of the truck, “Coke Red,” is original, but Thunder Grafix in Joplin, Mo., took care of the striping work.

The interior, which features red dash panels, red and black steering wheel, red shifter knob and more, was done by 4 State Trucks.

Avant is the owner of 80-truck fleet Blann Tractor out of Hampton, Ark., where he’s also a driver. The truck doesn’t work full-time, but when it is on the road, it pulls an end dump or flatbed freight.
