The classic lines and detailed but tasteful interior styling of this custom showpiece are the result of design decisions made in part on the fly after trial and error, notes owner Candice Cooley in the video interview above. Give a run through it for more on the 2016 GATS Limited Mileage Bobtail Best of Show winner as it heads out now to do what it was built for, hauling livestock out of Idaho, Cooley’s Patrone Livestock fleet’s home base, Cooley says. After a final show for the time being last month, “she’s going to work.”

With six trucks now on the road, all Peterbilt 389s of recent vintage, things have been going well for Cooley since starting out in trucking as a livestock hauler with her former husband in 2005, then moving off on her own after their divorce.

Via this link, read a little more about Cooley’s partners on the custom work put into the originally solid red 389, delivered from the factory powered by the big-block Cummins ISX in March of this year. Six months, all told, have turned it into what you see here, a pristine working unit with plenty of old-school flair from the flattop sleeper and button-tuck interior to the striping.
