VIDEO: Wire walk between two moving trucks

| August 20, 2012

On an as-yet unopened highway in Croatia, champion “slackliner” Faith Dickey (pictured) performed a walk across a line suspended between two European-model Volvo trucks’ van trailers. The resulting video, as reported on ABC, since being posted just five days ago has already garnered millions of views.

For good reason — in the vid, the trucks are moving at speed along each side of the divided highway, with Dickey walking between them, toward a pair of tunnels cut into a mountain. The stunt marked the first time Dickey had ever walked a line in motion like this, she said.

Produced by Volvo’s European group and filmed in part by helicopter , the video is something special to watch (see below). In a post to her blog this past Saturday, Dickey noted the stunt was filmed more than a year ago now. Find more background in the post here.

Heck of a responsibility to put on the two drivers, I’d say: “Too far apart the rope breaks, too near together she falls off,” said driver Alan Jones, piloting one of the two new cabovers.

And hey, don’t try this one at home, but of course….
