Fleets with at least five Class 8 trucks, one of them a Volvo, are eligible to enter the Volvo Trucks Safety Award contest through July 31 for two grand prizes of $25,000 each, the truck maker said.
The two grand prizes will go to the fleets with the best records in two divisions based on annual vehicle miles traveled with less than 20 million miles and more than 20 million miles. Accident frequency rates and fleet prevention efforts are top criteria in the contest. Winners will be announced at the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference and Exhibition in October. Michelin Tires is a contest co-sponsor.
