Watkins celebrates 80th year

Watkins Family of Companies will celebrate its 80^th anniversary this year. Owner-operator team driver Tyrone Frost has worked for Watkins for three years, and he said he was drawn to the company because of its commitment to a healthy off-time relationship. Frost is a part of the company’s lease-purchase program. The company offers several different options for drivers, depending on the fleet they choose, regional and dedicated drivers can expect weekly home time and teams stay out on the road typically 7-14 days at a time.

After the truck was retired about three years ago, owner Joel Anker had it rebuilt into a show truck. The hard work paid off, with a fifth-place finish in the Limited Mileage -- Bobtail with Miles class at MATS in March.
