My husband is a great guy and I’m so happy to see him when he comes home. The problem is, he’s a total slob. You should see the inside of his sleeper. It’s disgusting. I spend hours every month cleaning it out. He doesn’t ask me to do it and barely thanks me for all the effort. He says it doesn’t bother him, why should it bother me? Well, it does bother me and my name is on the loan too!
How can I make him pick up after himself?

If only. That’s the problem with the advice giving gig. I can’t pretend that it’s possible to “make someone do something.” I can’t do it. You can’t do it. My mother can do it but she won’t tell me her secret.
This is what I think you should do. Stop cleaning his cab for him. Don’t even look inside. Let it go. As long as you are the one cleaning it out; he’s going to let you. Sounds like a smart guy to me. He’ll either eventually tackle the chores, or he won’t. Don’t make this your problem.
As far as the loan on the truck? Don’t miss a truck payment.
