Work planned for Memphis roads

Drivers should expect minor delays this weekend as crews work on two projects on Interstate 240 and Interstate 40 in the Memphis area.

Two lanes in each direction of I-240 will be closed as Memphis Light Gas and Water installs hangers on the McLemore Bridge. Closure will be Aug. 15 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. One lane will remain open at all times with police officers assisting traffic, the Tennessee Department of Transportation said. At times, traffic could be stopped for up to 20 minutes.

TDOT crews will reduce I-40 to one lane in each direction Aug. 14 and 15 from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Traffic will be diverted onto the ramps at exit 101 as crews pour a new bridge deck on the State Route 104 overpass.
