Exitonly MarianiIf you missed the debut episodes of the “American Trucker” series last Thursday on the Speed Channel, it’s being rebroadcast tonight at 8 and 11 p.m. ET, and 8 a.m. tomorrow. The next new episodes follow on Thursday, with “Bandit and the Snowman” and “Robb and the Bear,” the latter likely to include sneak-peek material about Paul Sagehorn’s B.J. and the Bear rig I’ve written about so much here. Catch a clip from the sneak-peek here.

In this month’s brand-new edition of Truckers News, I published my interview with “American Trucker” host Robb Mariani, part of my “Exit Only” series/column (pictured), and the broader focus of the series. Take a look over at Truckers News site to read it here.

Some of what he said:
*”“I was into [trucking] from the time I could page through [Grandpa Emil’s] Overdrive magazine. I told my parents I was going to be a truck driver.”

*“I got onto HGTV in 2007 with my design portfolio work” in the second season of the competitive Design Star show. “They couldn’t believe that I was overtly straight, did interior design and had a cabover Ford.”

*”“I can’t host the show without the integrity — I’m not an actor, and I’m always underscoring some points: [Truckers] are clearly the backbone of America, and trucks drive our nation. That’s the thread for me with everything.”
