Keep On Loving You – Reba McEntire
The uber-talented redhead has sold more 55 million records and has roped in a truckload of hits in four decades on the country music charts. McEntire recently was recognized as the biggest female hit-maker in country music history by Billboard, Mediabase and Country Aircheck.
The singer and actress recently scored her second consecutive Top 10 single of 2009, with the fastest-climbing one of her career, “Strange.” Her new single, the confrontation-song “Consider Me Gone,” was a Billboard Hot Shot.
At 54, the Okie shows no signs of slowing down. “It’s harder to maintain than it is to get there, so to maintain is one thing, but to kick it in the butt again and go on forward is another,” she says. “I am very competitive; that is the driving force behind my career – curiosity and competitiveness. We’re always looking ahead, seeing what more we can do.”
The first solo album from McEntire in six years, Keep On Loving You is her first project with The Valory Music Co. And she’s putting music first these days, confessing that acting gigs have been put on hold. “This is a time when I can really concentrate and focus on my music.”
Great songs on the album include “Over You” and “I Want a Cowboy.” The perfect backdrop for a girls’ night out is “I’ll Have What She’s Having.” And “Pink Guitar” is a hoot.
