The last time the Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series was on the track and able to complete a full event was in early May when Ricky “Rude” Proffitt won his first race of the season at Concord Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. The racers were scheduled to race in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on June 9, but the event was postponed halfway through because of bad weather.

Racers are hoping this weekend’s scheduled event goes off without a hitch in North East, Pa., near the banks of Lake Erie to have their first full day of racing action in two months. The race will be held Saturday, July 7, at Lake Erie Speedway. Bandit Series General Manager Jason Johnson says the track will provide a challenge for racers, as it is the first three-eighths mile track on the schedule.

“I’m raring to go,” said Minimizer CEO and racer Craig Kruckeberg. “It’s been far too long since we’ve had a chance to compete for the checkered flag.”

The Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show, which allows truckers to participate in a “wash and show” style event, will kick off the day’s events. A driver meet and greet will be held from 4-6 p.m., and racing action begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the race are available online for $25 for adults. Children 8 and under get in free.
