Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series fans and racers will have to wait a couple extra weeks before the green flag drops on the series’ second season — a stormy forecast prompted series organizers to postpone the first race of the season.

According to series General Manager Jason Johnson, the season’s first race at Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Ala., has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 24. It was originally set for this weekend, March 10.

When the Bandits make their way to Mobile for the race in two weeks, fans will be able to enjoy a new event during Bandit race days – the Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show.

The Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show is an opportunity for truckers to bring their rigs to the track to show off to fans attending the races. Johnson says at this point, there won’t be any judging and there are no truck class limitations, so anybody with any truck can register to park and participate in the show. All that’s required to register is a small minimum donation to the Wyakin Warrior Foundation, which helps wounded veterans transition into the civilian workforce.

The truck shows will be held in conjunction with each Bandit race in 2018, which spans 12 races from March through October.
