Pilot Flying J, in collaboration with federally funded Shorepower Truck Electrification Project, has added electrical connections to 36 parking spaces at the Pilot Travel Center at Exit 745 off I-5 in Weed, California. The connections give drivers the ability to run heating, air conditioning and cab appliances without idling during 10-hour rest periods. The Weed location will also feature nine 460v plug-in connections for electric reefer units.
