Crossville’s Eco Truck Stop

I made a stop this afternoon at the Eco Truck Stop in Crossville, Tenn. (I-40 exit 320), one I’d been meaning to visit since it opened, well, just to see it. It got a fair amount of regional and even some national press when it launched given several features, not least among them the Shorepower Technologies power plug-ins and AireDock stations you’ll see in the pictures below — and the solar panels generating electricity to power the store atop the fuel-island roofs, a nice feature on a brilliant sunny day like today. All in the all, the interior facility, which also features a Dairy Queen fast-food restaurant, showers and the usual C Store amenities, seemed clean, the staff accommodating. Anyone ever overnighted here?

As you can see in the pictures, it didn’t look like any of the operators were plugged in to the Shorepower stations, but a few of the AireDock modules were in use. In any case, back on the road. Stay safe out there this weekend.
