Trucker Buddy International has named Bob Cravens, a Wal-Mart driver, the April Trucker Buddy of the Month after his nomination by Pat De Long, a third grade teacher at Libery Elementary School in Rocky Ford, Colo. DeLong says she and Cravens have been working together with the program for more than 17 years. Students in De Long’s class correspond by writing emails and postcards to Cravens, which he returns. In his letters, Craven explains which states he is driving in and what he is hauling, which helps the students become familiar with the Midwest. De Long noted that Cravens is an amazing role model because he volunteers in his community and encourages the students to do the same.
Affected tractors are equipped with an automated Eaton UltraShift Plus or Eaton Advantage Transmission with right hand stalk shifter. In the affected trucks, the display on the instrument panel can indicate “N” when the shifter is set into “D” or “R,” causing the truck not to move.
