Epes receives Walmart award

Epes Transport System, a North Carolina-based truckload carrier, was recently named the Walmart General Merchandise Gold Carrier of the Year.

This award is given to carriers with 1,000 trucks or fewer in their fleet.

After the truck was retired about three years ago, owner Joel Anker had it rebuilt into a show truck. The hard work paid off, with a fifth-place finish in the Limited Mileage -- Bobtail with Miles class at MATS in March.
