The truck will be on display at the Mid-America Trucking Show later this month in Louisville, Ky., and Fitzgerald will be accepting purchase price requests there and via telephone leading up to and during the show.
Fitzgerald will sell the truck to the person or fleet with the highest asking price.
The truck is a 2015-model glider equipped with a Detroit Diesel 60 Series pre-emissions engine and a factory refurbished Eaton Fuller transmission.
It has a white base with red St. Jude’s logos. Joining Fitzgerald in the sponsorship is Peterbilt, Rush Truck Centers, DynaFlex and Chrome Country.
To learn more about buying the truck or to submit a price to purchase it, call 866-597-3836.
Also, both Tommy and Robert Fitzgerald — principle owners and operators of the glider kit manufacturer in Cookeville, Tenn. — explain the charity project in the video below, along with representatives from St. Jude’s.
Affected trucks include model year 2008-2018 Freightliner Cascadia and Western Star 4700, 4900, 5700 and 6900 trucks. DTNA says after hard brake applications, the brake light pressure switch may not activate the brake lights with the light application of the brake pedal.
