Southeastern celebrates 60th anniversary
Southeastern Freight Lines will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year. While the company has seen much change and growth, the company attributes its longevity to its culture and commitment to quality improvement. Andersen Corporation recently named Southeastern LTL Carrier of the Year. Southeastern led all categories of Andersen’s measurement, including on-time delivery, claim-free deliveries and billing accuracy.
Daily Express earns safety award
Daily Express won the 2009 General Electric Energy Environmental Health and Safety Award for achieving the highest safety results in the industry in an environmentally friendly way. Daily Express transports windmill components for GE and was selected from all of GE Energy’s carrier, rail and air transportation providers.
CalArk buys 100 new trucks
Because of increased business, CalArk International purchased 100 new 2011 International Prostars to begin delivery this month.
Arrow names campaign winner
Arrow Truck Sales named Robert Snyder of Dunnellon, Fla., winner of Arrow’s Back On The Road 2010 campaign, presented by Volvo Trucks North America. Snyder receives a 2007 Volvo VNL 670, courtesy of Volvo Trucks North America, a one-year work agreement with Heartland Express and other products and services.
WEL driver’s 4-million-mile perfect record
WEL Companies driver Jim Pavlek of Phillips, Wis., has never been in an accident or received a ticket in his 40 years of driving a truck. Pavlek began driving with his father at age 16. More than 4 million miles later, he is still accident- and ticket-free.
Schneider wins ‘green’ awards
Schneider National has been named Fleet Owner’s 2009 Green Fleet of the Year based on Schneider’s longterm commitment to sustainability, dedication to ongoing driver training, aggressive new-technology testing program, participation in ornganizations and programs to further sustainability, diligence in measuring and sharing results, policies and practices for maximum energy efficiency and minimal impact. Schneider also won CSX’s 2009 Environmental Award.
