Panther increases sign-on bonus
Panther Expedited Services announced sign-on bonuses for solo and team owner-operators and fleet owners. Owner-operators will receive $2,500 for straight trucks and $4,000 for tractors and team owner-operators will receive $5,000 for straight trucks and $8,000 for tractors. The company also says that through Panther’s Lease/Purchase program, contractors will be able to purchase a tractor with no money down, no credit check and affordable weekly or monthly payments.
Bennett honors Drivers of the Year
Bennett Motor Express honored its 2010 Drivers of the Year: James Kinnett as General Freight Driver of the Year and Elbert “Mike” Stamps as Heavy Haul Driver of the Year. Kinnett was previously honored as the April 2010 General Freight Division Driver of the Month and Stamps was previously honored as July 2010 Heavy Haul Division Driver of the Month.
Chicago Tribune recognizes National Van Lines
The Chicago Tribune’s Top 100 Workplaces issue ranked National Van Lines 45th place in the Small Business category, which is less than 250 employees.
TCA names Schneider top workplace
The Truckload Carriers Association recognized Schneider National as one of the top 20 workplaces for company drivers and owner-operators in North America. This is the second year in a row Schneider earned a spot on TCA’s Best Fleets to Drive For list.
Barr-Nunn raises owner-operator pay
Barr-Nunn Transportation announced its “Pure Pay” raise for Owner-Operators, which raised the base pay rate to $0.98 loaded and $0.70 empty on Feb. 21. It also announced a raise for its hazmat-endorsed owner-operators on the Band Pay Program.
FSL Group honors A Duie Pyle
The FSL Group awarded A. Duie Pyle with the Carrier of the Year Award for 2010 for meeting the expectations of responsive customer service and consistent service to user-friendly technology and documented processes for claims prevention and security.
