Prime recognizes million mile achievements

Prime recognized 17 of its drivers for reaching 1 million or more accident-free miles for the company during March, April and May.

Those receiving awards for 2 million miles were: Paula Lyke and Juan Guerra.

Drivers who reached a million miles and have been at Prime for seven years received the Gold Million level. They were: Donald Fields, Michael Gandee, Darrin Lee Jackson, Phillip Matchett, Charity Thomas, John Penders, Victor Blackburn, Juan Guerra Jr., Mark Kidwell, Mark Oldham, Dillip Ramnanan, Peter Sampson, David Williams, Matthew Allen, Bonny Fisher, Howard Smith and Jerald Thomas.

The Silver Million level was awarded to drivers with three consecutive accident-free years at Prime and four accident-free years with a previous carrier. They were: Angelo R. Maio, Thomas L. Carroll, Jerry Haecker, Charles A. Lane and Janice M. Olsen.

 

Con-way earns Fleet Safety Award

Con-way Freight was honored with two first-place safety awards in the local/short-haul and line haul categories as well at the California Trucking Association Board of Directors trophy for the best overall safety program and performance for companies with more than $10 million in gross revenue.


Marten Detention Pay

Marten Transport recently announced drivers who arrive on time and are delayed by a shipper or receiver for more than two hours beyond the scheduled appointment time will automatically receive detention pay. The rate will be $12 per hour for company drivers and $20 per hour for independent contractors for every hour detained beyond the two hour limit, up to 11 hours.


Prime increases minimum guarantee

Prime Inc. raised its minimum guarantee for independent contractors in its refrigerated and flatbed divisions to $1.02 per mile. The company raised its minimum guarantee for independent contractors in its tanker division to $1.15 per mile. Existing operators must contact the leasing company to sign an addendum before the increase takes effect, the company says.
