As a transgender owner-operator I get to interact with people at all levels of trucking. I am the president of Fortworthtransgender.org, which gives me the opportunity to promote trucking jobs to those in my group.

I started driving in 1989 hauling feed, from 2002 until 2008 I pulled a pneumatic tanker in 2009, bought a stepdeck and for the last year I have been hauling an end dump.

When I first came out as transgender I was worried it would be the end of trucking. I soon found out that the trucking industry is very accepting of all t types of people. In trucking we don’t see race, gender, or sexual orientation. We simply see a fellow trucker.
