I-40 lanes in both directions in Arkansas have been reopened after being closed last week from flooding.
The westbound lanes were reopened Wednesday, May 11, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department reported. A 23-mile segment of westbound lanes was closed and traffic was forced to take a 120-mile detour. Eastbound lanes were reopened May 9.
Affected trucks include model year 2008-2018 Freightliner Cascadia and Western Star 4700, 4900, 5700 and 6900 trucks. DTNA says after hard brake applications, the brake light pressure switch may not activate the brake lights with the light application of the brake pedal.
