iLuvMyTrucker: Andy Thomas

AndyMooreI’ve been with my husband for 18 years (since I was 16). We have two beautiful, funny, smart, intelligent children. Our daughter is 12 and our son is 4. My husband is an OTR driver which means he isn’t home except for Saturday and part of Sunday. The rest of the time he is in his truck by himself working in all kinds of weather good or bad. He works 100+ hours a week to make sure me and our children have a home to live in and food to eat. He does all of this without complaining. He is great at what he does.He 98 percent of the time misses birthdays. He misses school functions that he really wants to be at. Like last year when he was delivering a load across the country while our daughter had Daddy Daughter Day at school. She was brokenhearted her dad couldn’t be there with her. But she understood he has to work to take care of us. She may not like it but she accepts it. Twelve years ago when I went into labor with our daughter he was four hours from home. He did what he had to do to make it back to see his child be born. He made it with a hour to spare! He’s never late to his appointments. He is never mean or nasty to anyone anywhere. He always takes five minutes to help anyone that needs it. I love my trucker with all my heart. He’s my best friend and my soul mate. Whether you choose him for this or not that won’t change how much appreciation I have for my husband. There are a lot of drivers who do their job every day with a smile on their face even though their hearts are breaking and they all deserve to be recognized for what they do and what they sacrifice. Thanks so much for your time.
