Today’s tip: Want a sure-fire way to put more money in your pocket by controlling your fuel expenses. First, slow down — for every mile per hour you drive over 60, you reduce your fuel economy by one-tenth of a gallon per mile. Second, keep your rig in top running order. Preventative maintenance can hurt your fuel efficiency. Third, stick to your routes by skipping those out-of-route side trips.
