I feel silly nominating myself, but I figure what the hell. I just got my CDL in June 2016. So yes, I am a rookie. I started driving with Hill Bros after I graduated from professional truck driving school. Started training right away, and two days before I was to get my own truck, I got really sick. I had a virus. I thought my short-lived truck driving career was over, but I got well and gained my strength back and returned the beginning of December. I had to overcome a lot of obstacles to get back to where I want to be, and that is a truck driver. I am 50 years old and have just discovered what I want to do for the rest of my life. Took me long enough, but I was always taking care of my kids and my family. Now all my kids are adults and so the time had come for me to take care of me and enjoy what I want to do for the rest of my life. I love trucking, and when I get done with training, which will be in two weeks, I will be the happiest person on the planet!
