Updated Jan 15, 2015

KLLM-Frozen Foods Express announced its selection of Truck-Lite LED forward lighting on all new trucks. The Richland, Miss.-based fleet, which operates more than 3,500 tractors and 5,000 trailers in 48 states, will begin its transition by spec’ing Truck-Lite Custom LED headlights on all 2016 Freightliner and Volvo models – nearly 700 trucks – with delivery beginning next month.

“This is a complement to our existing suite of safety features,” said Jim Richards, president of KLLM-Frozen Foods Express. “Driver safety has always been our number one priority and we feel that this improvement is a key step in keeping safety first

Truck-Lite’s LED headlights are designed to offer improved driver visibility through its more natural color of light, leading to improved object recognition at night and increased daytime visibility. The LED beam pattern also helps reduce eyestrain for drivers and reduce harsh headlight glare to oncoming traffic.

An additional benefit, according to the company’ is reduced amperage draw on the vehicle’s electrical system, freeing up power for other uses and resulting in longer lighting system life than conventional halogen technology. The lights also are built rugged to withstand extreme weather and environmental wear.
