Sick and tired of how the media blast trucking as a last-resort, dead-end job with unscrupulous employers? Here’s your chance to nominate your company for inclusion in a new national listing that will bring positive publicity to the industry.

The Best Fleets to Drive For survey, sponsored by CarriersEdge and the Truckload Carriers Association, will rank North American for-hire trucking companies with 10 or more trucks that provide an exceptional workplace environment for their drivers and owner-operators.

There are all kinds of reasons you should be interested in this ranking. Maybe you want to see how your company lines up, or you want to promote the extra perks your company provides.

The hope is that this annual survey will promote the positive elements of the trucking industry and put the word out that there are a lot of good opportunities available in trucking. It also will praise fleets that provide exceptional workplace environments and push other fleets to follow suit. The success stories uncovered by the survey will model best practices other companies can follow.

If you think you’re driving for one of the best fleets in the industry, let the world know about it. Only drivers and owner-operators can nominate their fleets. This is one of the times where size really doesn’t matter; both big and small fleets will be evaluated on their total work environment. The following parameters will be considered:

  • Total compensation package – including base pay, bonuses, vacation and sick-day allotment
  • Health benefits
  • Pension plans
  • Professional development opportunities (training, coaching programs, etc.)
  • Career path/advancement
